Katy, TX

Erik Aguirre, Sr., a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Katy, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle. He was 47 years old.

Erik was born on November 15, 1978, in Weslaco, Texas. He lived a life filled with passion, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to the people he loved most. Family was the center of Erik’s world, and he took great pride in the life he built with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Aguirre, whom he married on July 26, 2008, in Tomball, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two sons, Erik Aguirre Jr. and Erin Aguirre, who were the greatest joys of his life.

Erik is also survived by his mother, Estella (George) Markham, and his father, Favian Aguirre. He shared a special bond with his brothers, Fabian (Beatrice) Aguirre and Randy (Myra) Aguirre, as well as his uncle, Rodrigo Aguirre.

He was deeply loved by his extended family, including his mother-in-law, Alice Longoria; brother-in-law Richard Longoria Jr. (Veronica); sister-in-law Sue Ann Longoria; sister-in-law Maria Sliter (Richard); brother-in-law Frank Longoria (Alicia); brother-in-law Vincent Longoria; and sister-in-law Stacy Garcia (Aurelio). Erik also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Erik had a vibrant personality and a natural ability to make people smile. He was a devoted fan of the Houston Texans and loved talking football with anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed working on vehicles and took pride in every project he tackled. Erik was well known among family and friends for his barbeque and loved bringing everyone together over a good meal. Above all, he had a special gift for humor—his jokes, laughter, and lighthearted spirit could brighten any room.

Though his formal education concluded with high school, Erik’s true accomplishments were found in the life he built through love, loyalty, and the countless memories he created with family and friends.

Erik was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eulogio Rubalcaba and Santos Aguirre; his grandmother, Rosa Jacinto Rubalcaba; his great-grandmother, Rafaela Martinez; his uncle, Domingo Aguirre; and his father-in-law, Richard Longoria Sr. Their memories, along with Erik’s, will forever remain in the hearts of those who love them.
