He was born July 1981 to Carl Eugene Hansen and Connie Lynn Hansen in Columbus, OH.He was a quiet, gentle soul, with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was involved in Scouting, becoming a Life Scout, as well as a member of Order of the Arrow. He also enjoyed computers and photography, often rebuilding computers and figuring out how they worked as he developed his skills. He played trombone in the Grove City High School Marching Band.Eric graduated from Grove City HS and attended Ohio University, studying Broadcast Engineering. He worked behind the scenes, making TV happen. Spending time working with WOUB, the station associated with OU, as well as later with ESPN. He worked at NBC4 in Columbus before later moving to Raleigh to continue following his dream of working in broadcasting, working with the local affiliate CBS 17 (WNCN).It wasn't always easy for him, but he never complained about his circumstances, only carried on making the best of things. His beloved cat Sampson preceded him in death. Eric is survived by his parents Carl and Connie, his brother Timothy, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He will be missed by everyone that knew him, including friends and co-workers.A private celebration of life is being planned for family and friends, date to be determined.Read The Full Obituary
