Eric Richardson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dryer Funeral Home, Inc. - Holly on Mar. 6, 2026.Eric Rex Richardson, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Lake Orion, Michigan. Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Eric was the son of Rex and Anna Richardson.Eric was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. His time in the service sparked a lifelong fascination with history and vintage machinery that would define much of his life. He was a dedicated collector of military vehicles, often seen preparing his gear for military reenactments-allowing him to preserve the stories and equipment of his fellow servicemen. His passion for the mechanical extended to the open road. Alongside his father, Eric restored several MG cars, and for many years they were fixtures in the local MG car club. He took great joy in the camaraderie of club events and the rows of old British cars. Eric also held a deep appreciation for British motorcycles from every era. He was a familiar face at events like the "Battle of the Brits," where he spent decades buying, selling, and trading vintage bikes. He was never without a feline companion, and his love for his cats remained at the forefront of his mind until the very end, as he continued to ask after them.Eric was preceded in death by his sister, Letty Martin, and his brother, Enoch (Nick) Richardson. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Douglas (Holly) Martin, Scott (Chelle) Martin, Brian (Jillian) Richardson, and Courtney (Jens) Vollmer. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Eric's honor to the Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society in Eastpointe, MI (mimths.org/donation), an organization that mirrors his passion for military history and preservation.www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
