Eric Brian Allison

Eric Brian Allison

March 1, 1961 March 5, 2026

Louisville, KY

After a long struggle with liver disease, Eric Brian Allison (March 1, 1961-March 5, 2026) left us just after his 65th birthday. Too young.

Eric leaves behind his mother, Betty Burnett Allison, brothers Terry and Curtis, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who will all miss him terribly. Eric also leaves behind several great friends, some he met over 50 years ago, others more recently. Eric was a highly social person who loved to hang out with friends and neighbors and to travel around the world to meet new friends.

He loved to cook, bake, and barbecue and even took cooking classes in Italy, France, New Orleans, California, and other spots.

Eric grew up in a military family, the youngest of four boys. His father, Franklin D Allison, and his oldest brother, Michael, died before him. Half of his childhood was spent in Hawai'i and California, the other half in Texas. He lived most of his adult life in California with briefer stints in Las Vegas, Scranton, PA, and for the past several years in Louisville, where he made several new friends.

Eric established a career in distribution, starting at Esprit Sportswear, followed by Merisel, Converse, Nike, Zumi, Black Tuxedo, and Cencora, along with some interim posts. He rose early and worked hard, but he also couldn't wait till the next vacation adventures.

Longtime friend, LIsa Herrick, and brother, Terry, are organizing a Zoom memorial so that friends all over can join in remembrance. Terry is working with Eric's great friend, Jon Roy, to have a remembrance, likely during fall 2026, for Eric in Palm Springs, CA, where he had planned to retire.

Please stay tuned through Facebook and other social media for further details in the near future.

The Allison family would like to thank everyone who supported Eric through good and not-so-good times. Like all of us, Eric was far from perfect. We, his family and friends, never stopped loving him, worrying about him, and wishing all the best for Eric. May he now rest in peace.
