Enna Boggs ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by DeBaptiste Funeral Homes, Inc. - West Chester on Feb. 27, 2026.Enna "Ena" Rebecca Boggs, 92, of Downingtown, PA quietly passed over to Jordon on February 24, 2026 at St. Martha Center in Downingtown, PA. Born on May 13 1933, in New Brunswick Canada, she was the wife of the late George James Boggs of Downingtown PA and the daughter of the late Charles Bracket Jones and Annie Ada (O'Ree) Jones of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. A child of the depression era, she often talked of growing up in poverty as well as growing up practicing her faith in the Pentecostal Church. In her youth, before starting her own family, she worked as a nanny for the Hatfield family in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada, helping to raise their three children, Sheri, Christine and Bradley Hatfield. She met her future husband George, a U.S. serviceman, in Fredericton New Brunswick, while he was stationed just across the US border, in Maine. They were married on April 14, 1956 in Mt. Raymond U.A.M.E. Church in Downingtown and it was the last time she would ever live in her beloved Canada. Ena had six children and she traveled across America and around the world with her young family throughout the 1950's, 60's and 70's. Ena's children were everything to her. She was a nurturing and caring parent, yet tough love was the order of the day. Being a mom and the wife of a U.S. serviceman became the focal point in her life as she raised her family. An extrovert, she easily handled the social demands of a military wife and enjoyed throwing parties and meeting new people. After George's last tour of duty, they returned to Downingtown and she joined Mt. Raymond U.A.M.E Church. As her children left her care, her focus returned to the church and her faith. She enjoyed studying the scriptures, singing and actively participating in the various ministries in her church. As she had done in her youth, she returned to working as a nanny. She worked for the Berkowitz family in Exton, nurturing Leslie and Ross Berkowitz through their youth. The relationships she formed as a nanny created life long bonds between Ena and the men and women she helped to shape. As they aged, Ena and George would visit their children who were now spread across the country including Alaska. They had many fun adventures along the way. After George's death in June, 2009, Ena spent seven years living in Alaska, but eventually, returned to Downingtown, where she lived until her death.Ena is survived by her sister Brenda F. Pavey of Petersfield, England, her six children: Rosa R. Lewis of PA, Pamela J. Eberle (husband Randy) of MN, Dennis G. Boggs (wife Scarlet) of C Trent L. Boggs (wife Sheri) of AK, Tina G. Simpson (husband Chris) of CA, Mona Lisa V. Boggs of PA, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends in America and abroad. She is preceded in death by five of her siblings: Arthur R. Jones, Joyce M. Richards, Doris M. Winters, Gerald B. Jones and Eugene C. Jones as well as her granddaughter, Kindra M. Lewis and grandson, Russell W. Eberle.Ena will never be missed because she will always be remembered for her strong connection to Christ, her unflinching belief in and support of her children and her unbounded charitablenature.
