Emma Louise Chavis Agidius
May 29, 1965— March 10, 2026
Graniteville, SC
Emma Louise Chavis Agidius, 60, of Graniteville, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born in Blackville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Petricia Ann Moore Chavis and the late Benjamin F. Chavis.
Emma began her working life traveling across the United States with the carnival, an experience that allowed her to see many different places and sights. She later found a sense of community working at Walmart in Barnwell and then at the Aiken Walmart, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She cherished her family and friends above all, treasuring every moment spent with them. She delighted in watching hummingbirds at her feeders and lovingly referred to her dogs as her “babies.”
Known for her generous spirit and positive outlook, Emma faced her battle with cancer with remarkable bravery and courage. She remained upbeat and strong throughout her treatment, and her family is deeply grateful for the care she received at the Georgia Cancer Center at the Medical College of Georgia, particularly under the care of Dr. Lampkin.
She is survived by her soulmate of 26 years, Richard Fritts of Graniteville, South Carolina; her son, Warren Lee Agidius of Blackville, South Carolina; her sister, Monica (Donald) Holder of Blackville, South Carolina; her brothers, Bobby (Patricia) Chavis of Barnwell, South Carolina, and Benny Chavis of Blackville, South Carolina; and her special aunt, Josephine Cale of Conway, South Carolina.
