Emma Lou Slater

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Lou Slater of Portland, Oregon, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Emma may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Cormier and Estelle Cormier (Comeaux); her sons, Ronald K. Beatty and William J. Beatty (Bill); her husband James Slater; and her former husband Ronald K. Beatty.

She is survived by: her son Darren Beatty. She is also survived by many nieces; grandchildren, cousins, and loving family members.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (4560 TX-87, Orange, TX 77630).
