Emma Harrod ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Frankfort on Mar. 4, 2026.Emma Jean Harrod, 92, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, while surrounded by family at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. Mrs. Harrod was born the daughter of Harry and Mary Ellen McCoy on July 23, 1933. She lived her life and raised her family in Frankfort alongside her loving husband, Robert Earl Harrod, to whom she was married for 67 years prior to his passing in 2017.Mrs. Harrod had a long career with Union Underwear and was a member of First Baptist Church. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and baking. She was known for her candy making, especially her yearly bourbon balls, and her beautifully decorated birthday and wedding cakes. Of course, her greatest joy has always been her family.Mrs. Harrod is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Waldner (Eric) and Edna Stivers (Earl); her grandchildren, Angel Daniels (Stephen), Robert ("Bo") Stivers, Andrew Waldner, Jonathan Stivers (Kelly) and Lara Holderbaum (Alex); her great granddaughters, Emma Kate Daniels, Tilley Anne Daniels, Abigale Stivers, and Lyla Holderbaum; and her great grandson, Hudson Holderbaum. She is also survived by her sister, Rachel Daniels (Jim) and her caregiver, Jan Harp.She was preceded in death by her brothers, Goebel McCoy and Russell McCoy, her sister Grace Riley, and her Godchild, Beth Tutt.Services for Mrs. Harrod will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm, and officiated by Reverend David Rayborn. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held before the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday.Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and her nephew, Tim Goodrich.In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Bluegrass Care Navigators.Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
