Emilie “Razz” Rasmussen

Emilie "Razz" Ann Rasmussen, 80, of Rutland, died on March 14, 2026, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Born on April 8, 1945, in Teaneck, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Eric and Emilie (Golly) Rasmussen. Razz graduated from high school in Ramsey, New Jersey, earned her BA from Syracuse University, and later received a master’s degree in counseling from Toronto University. She worked as a science teacher and guidance counselor for ten years before becoming the music and spiritual leader for her parish.

She found great joy in woodworking, playing the guitar, and writing spiritual pamphlets. Those who knew her will remember her creative spirit and deep commitment to her faith and community.

Razz is survived by her cousin, Ralph Rasmussen of South Carolina, and her lifelong friend, Faith Parkins of Salisbury. A private burial will take place at a later date in her parents’ plot at the Saddle River Reformed Church Cemetery.
