Emil Ostrom ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 16, 2026.Emil Joseph Ostrom Jr. "Junior," 84, of Turner, Michigan, passed away on March 14, 2026 - a day that marked his 61st wedding anniversary.Junior was born on October 16, 1941, in Bay City, Michigan, to Emil Sr. and Marie Ostrom. He married the love of his life, Pauline Ostrom, on March 14, 1964.Junior made many lifelong friends during his 18 years working as a custodian at Au Gres-Sims School, where he retired in 2003. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, hosting family gatherings, and enjoying a cold drink with his loyal buddy, Chico, by his side.Junior is survived by his children, Paula (Keith) Baker and Tammy (Tim Fodo) Ostrom; his siblings, Jeannette Ostrom and Betsy Visnow; sister-in-law Patricia (Robert) Benefield; and his grandchildren, Nick (Brittany) Baker, Brandon (Amanda Plaga) Pigg, Amanda (Justin) Champagne, Shannon Pigg, and Angel (Corey Ervin) Manor. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Ostrom; his parents, Emil Sr. and Marie Ostrom; his brother, Tommy Ostrom; his sister, Carol Murphy; his brother-in-law, Robert Corey; and his grandson, RJ Pigg.Visitation will be held at Riverside Mennonite Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will follow the service.Legacy.com reports daily on death announcements in local communities nationwide.
