Emelia R. Richmond, 89, of Jamestown, passed away on March 10, 2026, at UPMC Chautauqua. Born on August 11, 1936, in San Cristobal Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Isidro Rojas and Elvira Herrera. Emelia immigrated to the United States in 1959 and became a U.S. citizen in 1995.
She worked for many years in the housekeeping department at WCA Hospital, where she was regarded as a valued and respected member of the staff. Emelia found great joy in spending time with her family, knitting, crocheting, and cooking.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ada Reddinger of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, Emelia (Scott) Harley of Dunkirk, New York, and Sara Richmond of Dunedin, Florida; grandchildren Matthew Reddinger and Jason Reddinger, both of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, Jessica (Shaun) Nelson of Macedon, New York, Dr. Andrew (Molly) Lindquist of Cheektowaga, New York, Sean Lodestro (Meghan Buchanan) of Clearwater, Florida, and Colin Lodestro of Frewsburg; and great-grandchildren Lucas and Isabel Lodestro, Oliver and Benjamin Nelson, and Abner and Daley Lindquist.
Emelia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Richmond Jr., whom she married on February 14, 1958, in Mexico, and who passed away on April 18, 2003; her son, Robert M. “Ozzy” Richmond III, who died on December 2, 2008; and her son-in-law, Michael Reddinger.
