Elvira Pryor

Passed March 10, 2026

Defiance, OH

Elvira “Elle” Naomi Pryor (née Jimenez), 79, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born on July 1, 1946, in Bryan, Ohio, to Antonio and Mercedes Jimenez, Elle graduated from Bryan High School and attended the University of Toledo. She spent most of her life in Defiance, where she created a home rooted in family, community, and a deep sense of adventure.

In December 1985, she married the love of her life, Steven Pryor. Together they shared many happy years. Elle was a world traveler who cherished sunshine and the beach. A proud Parrot Head, she found joy in the music of Jimmy Buffett and Carole King. Those who knew her often described her as a butterfly—a free spirit who faced life with courage and enthusiasm. She retired from Tenneco in Napoleon, Ohio, and remained actively involved in the Defiance Eagles, AMVETS, UAW Local 211 Associate, Region 2B CAP Platinum Club, the Moose Lodge, and the Defiance County Democratic Party.

Above all, Elle treasured her family. She is survived by her husband Steven Pryor and her daughters Cindy Navarette (James Navarette), Julie Flores, Erica McGee, and Jackie Shelby (Jermaine Shelby, deceased). She was a proud grandmother to Nastasha Truesdale (James Truesdale), Griffin Navarette (Shenae Navarette), Kelsey Rivera (Michael Rivera), Brianna Navarette, Justin Flores (Marilyn Flores), Anyssia Flores (Arik Wenzel), Jasmine Pryor, Daebreona McGee, Douglas McGee, Trinity Shelby, and Jermaine Shelby Jr. Her legacy lives on through her beloved great-grandchildren Liam Truesdale, James Truesdale, Hadley Truesdale, Wesley Truesdale, Xiamara Navarette, Evelyn Rivera, Rory Rivera, Elijah Flores, Caio Flores, and AJ Wenzel.

Elle will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of music and travel, and the warmth and laughter she brought to everyone around her. Her fearless heart and gentle joy will remain with all who knew and loved her.
