Elvira A. Correia

Elvira A. (Moniz) Correia, 96, of Dartmouth died peacefully March 6, 2026 at Catholic Memorial Home surrounded by her family.She was the wife of the late Alfred Correia.Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Rufino and Maria N. (Neto) Moniz, she lived in Dartmouth most of her life.She was formerly employed at Acushnet Company for 24 years until her retirement.Vera was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church and was a member of the Women's Guild.Survivors include 2 sons, Michael Correia and his wife Kathleen of Warwick, RI and Timothy Correia and his wife Sharon of Tiverton; a daughter, Diane Sylvia of Dartmouth; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Robert Correia and the sister of the late Gloria Tavares, Alice Arruda, John Moniz and Judith Davis.Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 13th at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd. Dartmouth . Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
