Elsie Mulder
September 30, 1931— March 4, 2026
Manteca, CA
Elsie Mulder, born Elsie Van Boven on September 30, 1931, in Indiana, was the oldest of nine children born to Bert and Alice Van Boven. Her siblings were Bernard, George, Robert, Richard, Kenneth, Stanley, Joyce, and Judy. After her family moved to California, she met George Mulder at church when she graciously allowed him to step ahead of her in the refreshments line. That simple act marked the beginning of a lifelong love, and they married on August 27, 1954.
Elsie and George made their home in Manteca, California, where they raised their three sons, Mike, Chuck, and Terry. Their family later grew to include daughters-in-law Margaret, married to Chuck, and Bonnie, married to Terry. In time, they were blessed with five grandchildren: Melissa, Greg, Dan, Amanda, and Tommy, who brought them great joy. Elsie loved the Lord deeply and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, watching the birds, cooking and baking for those she loved, and spending time with her family. She and George also enjoyed traveling together in their RV.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George. In the years that followed, Elsie was blessed to welcome six great-grandchildren into the family, each one bringing her great pride and happiness.
Elsie will be remembered for her faithful heart, her kindness to others, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. Her life was a quiet testimony of devotion to God and to those around her. She will be deeply missed, yet her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord and joyfully reunited with her husband and loved ones who have gone before.
