Elsie Prater ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Funeral & Cremation - Mann on Mar. 17, 2026.Elsie Lynn Prater, age 84, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on March 16, 2026.Elsie was a devoted lover of animals and found great joy in caring for her goats, peacocks, donkey, and turkeys. She had a special bond with her beloved dog, Bozo. She cherished her time spent on the farm, whether tending to her animals, or spending time on her antique trucks and tractors. Elsie was a talented artist that shared her unique works of art in the homes of many.Elsie was a devoted Methodist and enjoyed her Sundays going to church. She was a former president of The Smoky Mountain Dairy Goat Association and a member of the Tennessee Cattlemen's Association.She is preceded in death by her father, William Hugh Prater and her mother, Lorene Loy Prater.Elsie is survived by her daughter, Martha Kimball (Jim); granddaughters, Lucinda Hefner (Josh) and Dr. Natalie Moore (Logan); great-grandson, Haiston Hefner; sisters, Martha Webb (late Roy Webb) and Adriance Guider (Dr. Bud Guider); nieces and nephews, Scott Webb and wife Rebecca (children Brian and Katie), Mark Webb (son Nathan), and Dr. Will Guider and wife Allie (children Hadley and Graham); as well as special friends, Robbie White and Jennifer Moore.A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Concord United Methodist Church, followed by a graveside service at Concord Masonic Cemetery in Knoxville. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hefner, Logan Moore, Brian Webb, Carter Hobson, Cathal McGuckin, Shane Tarleton, Bingham Hefner and Bruce Wilkerson.
