Elmer Bouwman ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Yntema Funeral Home on Mar. 4, 2026.Elmer "Don" Bouwman, born January 11, 1933, passed away March 4th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.Don was a devoted husband to his wife, Alyce (Allie) Beyer Bouwman, and a proud father to his children, Terry and Cheryl Bouwman, Mary and Scott VanDort, and Don and Jill Bouwman. He was a cherished grandfather to 7 grandchildren and their spouses, a beloved great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren, he is also survived by his sister Shirley and Alvin Meiste, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ron and Jean Beyer, and Thelma and Larry Rigterink.Don's life was marked by steady faith and a generous spirit. He was known for his ability to share God's love through simple, meaningful acts of kindness-showing up for others, offering support, and caring for those in need. Whether through a helping hand, a thoughtful word, or quiet service, Don lived his values in a way that made people feel seen and cared for.Above all, Don will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather-someone who led with love, humility, and compassion. His legacy will continue in the family he cherished and in the many lives he touched.He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.Visitation will be 4-7 pm Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service to honor Don will be held at 2 pm Monday, March 9, 2026, at Third Christian Reformed Church, 10 West Central Avenue, Zeeland. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
