Elmer Andrew Tillson

Elmer Andrew Tillson, 92, of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins, surrounded by his loving wife, Mildred, and devoted son, Tim.

Born on June 5, 1933, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to Martin Andrew Tillson and Almo Pearl Smith Tillson, Elmer graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1954. He soon entered the United States Air Force, where he trained in electronics. That foundation led to 35 years of owning and operating his own television business, followed by work at the AT&T Data Center until his retirement.

A lifelong and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, Elmer served in many capacities over the years. He ran the sound system for services, acted as secretary of Sunday School, served as an usher and deacon, and enjoyed working alongside the men of the church to build ramps for shut-ins and complete the interior of the Recreational Outdoor Center.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Little Tillson; sons Todd Andrew Tillson (Julie) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Timothy Guy Tillson (Melissa) of Brandon, Mississippi; grandchildren Shelby Tillson, Jared Tillson, and Kayla Tillson; and siblings Jimmy Tillson and Phyllis Tillson Long (Tommy).
