Ellis F. Seaman Jr. Obituary March 5, 2026 - Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes
Reed City, MI
After traveling many roads and many miles for over 35 years as a truck driver, Ellis Fredrick Seaman Jr., age 77, took his final trip into the arms of Jesus on March 5, 2026. He was born to Ellis and Dorothy (Thomas) Seaman Sr., on December 22, 1948.The best way to describe Ellis was that he was on fire for the Lord. He was a dedicated Christian man, and shared the love and word of God to those around him until illness made him unable to speak. He attended The Church of Antioch of Reed City for 42 years, and it was one of the most important things in his life. He loved playing guitar at church, and teaching it to those he loved. His favorite song was "This Little Light of Mine", and you could always find him humming or singing it. He had a gift for good conversation, and loved to hang out in his garage tinkering. Ellis also enjoyed spending quality time with his family over warm, hot meals. Those who love him will miss him dearly, but have peace in knowing that he is rejoicing seeing his Lord face to face.Ellis is survived by his beloved wife Charlene (Allen) Seaman, whom he shared 58 beautiful years with; children, Christopher Seaman, and Alisa (John) Porter; grandchildren, Ashley, Codey, Andy, Brendon, Kodi, John, Ryan, and Tyler; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Nancy Wood.A memorial service is planned for March 20, 2026 at 1:00 PM at The Church of Antioch in Reed City, Michigan.Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, of Big Rapids. To share a memory or leave a condolence, please visit www.daggettfuneral.com
