Ellen Marie (Ringler) Clair

Ellen Marie Clair, 79, of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.

Born on July 1, 1946, in Fort Wayne to the late Ryan and Thelma (Lapp) Ringler, Ellen spent her early years in Fort Wayne before moving to Huntertown, where she graduated from Huntertown High School in 1964. She lived for several years in Indianapolis, building a career in product management within the aero-electronics industry. She later returned to the familiar surroundings of Huntertown and eventually retired in the Churubusco and Columbia City area, where she most treasured time spent with her son and grandchildren.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Ellen found deep joy in life’s simpler pleasures. She was an avid fisherwoman, loved to golf, and remained a passionate supporter of IU basketball and the Chicago Cubs. Her enthusiasm for these pursuits created many lasting memories with friends and family.

She is survived by her son, Jon Paul Scott; her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Berlynn (Benjamin) Klaehn, Kaley Addison (Tiffany) Androl, and Ryan Paul (Rylee Crooks) Scott; and her sisters, Suzanne (Gary) Seagers, Cindy Getty, Carolyn (Ron) Gephart, and Jeanette (Clifford) Crance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Ringler, and her sister, Margaret Jackson.
