Ellen Adell Litwiller

Ellen Adell Litwiller, age 87, of Alma, MI, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at her daughters home. Burial has taken place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI. Ellen was born in Blanchard, Michigan on January 7, 1939, the daughter of Reuben Maurice and Beatrice Lucille (Bruce) Chubb. Ellen attended Blanchard Public Schools. She married Charles Clare Litwiller, on December 16, 1972, at Ithaca United Brethren Church. They were blessed with fifty one years of marriage, prior to his passing on January 28, 2024. Ellen retired from Gratiot Community Hospital after working 15 years in housekeeping. She liked sewing crafts for friends. Ellen enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping with family and friends. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son Jerry and Carol Hofstetter of AL; daughter Rodys and Randy Dancer of Alma, MI; and son Daniel and Brenda Litwiller of Carson City, MI; her grandchildren: Tonya Robinson, Daniel Litwiller, Jeremy Hofstetter, Jon (Heidi) Dancer, Jenifer MacArthur, Josh Massey, and Matt (Ashleigh) Massey; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Fred and Linda Chubb and Wayne and Sue Chubb. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie, daughter Gayla Harrison, 5 siblings: Maurice (Bonnie) Chubb, Eldon (Barbara) Chubb, Laura (Roger) Sowles, Ardith (Jake) Vaughn, and Maxine (Dale) Sowles.
