Ella Lucile Tyson

Lucile Tyson, born March 11, 1940, in Madison, Florida, to James and Rosa Lee Tyson, passed away on March 16, 2026. She grew up in Madison County, attending the local public schools, and later worked for many years as a dietitian at the Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center. She eventually left that position to care for her mother, Rosa Lee Tyson. Lucile accepted Christ as her Savior under the guidance of her niece, Evangelist Wanda Gail O’Hara, and cherished the simple, heartfelt faith that followed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rosa Lee Tyson; her daughter, Voncile Tyson Mattair; her brothers, Leroy Davis and Gorge Johnson; her sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Davis; and her brother-in-law, Rev. Ronald Mattair.

Lucile leaves to mourn her sisters, Maggie Burks and Jeanette Henderson (Thomas); her brother, James Tyson (Linda); her devoted caregiver and special niece, whom she lovingly called “Mama,” Kalisha Johnson; a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins; and her special friend, Mary Barfield. She will be forever loved and remembered.
