Ella Louise Presley

Ella Louise Presley

January 9, 1939 March 13, 2026

Goodlettsville, TN

Ella Louise Presley, age 87, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Born on January 9, 1939, to Frank and Ella Gulley on a small farm in Hermitage Springs, Tennessee, Louise grew up surrounded by the rhythms of farm life and a large, close-knit family. Alongside her siblings Odean, Marie, Buford, Mable, and Brenda, she worked the family farm from an early age, milking cows, tending tobacco, and finding time to buck dance and play as a scoring guard for the Hermitage Springs High School Tigers. A proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she carried the values of her rural upbringing throughout her life.

After graduation, Louise left farm life behind and moved to Nashville, where she worked at a bank and formed a lifelong friendship with Billie Byrd. She continued playing basketball at Red Shield, where she met her future husband, Paul. Their shared sense of humor and easy companionship made them inseparable. Together they traveled often and raised two sons, Greg and Tim, whom Louise lovingly guided—with a mixture of spoiling, discipline, and gentle guilt—into fine young men. She remained a dedicated member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ for many years.

Louise is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Paul G. Presley; sons Greg (Connie) Presley and Tim (Debbie) Presley; cherished grandchildren Sydney (Kevin Hertlein) Presley, Phoebe (Tristen) McCarthy, Coby Presley, Greyson (Caleb) Hammons, Cooper Presley, Ella (Kayden) Angell, and Eden Presley; and great-grandchildren Evvie Hertlein and Garrett Hammons. She was preceded in death by her siblings Odean, Marie, Buford, Mable, and Brenda.

Her life was defined by her deep love of family and friends, her strong faith, her quick sense of humor, and the quiet joy she found in simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
