Elizabeth Sheppard Welter, born on February 7, 1954, in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on March 15, 2026, at Memorial Health University in Savannah, Georgia. A U.S. Army veteran, she earned an Associate Degree through her determined pursuit of education and personal growth.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, Dakota and Denver Welter. She cherished their laughter, their stories, and the simple, special moments they shared, which brought profound happiness to her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael E. Welter; her children, Evan Michael Welter and Cheyenne Welter; and her siblings, Daniel Sheppard, Ann Sheppard, and James Sheppard. She also leaves behind her extended family, including step-siblings Larry Little, LeDonna Cox, Diane Collins, and Claud Little.

Elizabeth’s life was a testament to the strength of family, the value of service, and the quiet joy found in everyday moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
