She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton Richard and Rena Hull Richard; her husband Wilson Howard Covington; and her son Stephen "Steve" Covington. She is survived by: her son Tim Covington (Melanie) of Maiden; her grandchildren, Taylor C. Justice (Josh) of Denver, Tyler Covington of Maiden and Kaleb Covington (Maggie) of Sherrills Ford; her stepgrandchild Lauren Wallace (Stephen) of Denver; her great grandchildren, Sawyer Covington, Wade and Walker Justice; her daughter-in-law Kim Covington; her stepgreat-grandchild Charli Wallace; and her brothers, Graham Richard of Maiden and Harold Richard of Lincolnton.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Webb's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery (4640 Webbs Chapel Church Rd, Denver, NC 28037).
