Elizabeth R. Bemis

1978 — 2026

Somersworth, NH

Elizabeth Regina Bemis, 48, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, on January 14, 1978, to Richard Bemis and Florence Hamlin (Fountain), she spent most of her adult life as a devoted stay-at-home mother who cherished her children above all else.

Elizabeth found deep joy in the outdoors, embracing travel, camping, and frequent visits with loving relatives across New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. She particularly treasured camping trips to the woods of Rockwood, Maine, and time spent at her grandmother’s home in Sebec, where “Grammie Hamlin” operated a post office from her house. These adventures were often shared with her children. Though she loved these escapes, she never lost her fondness for the city life of her youth, especially the malls and shopping centers of Manchester.

In her younger years, she shared many special moments with her beloved grandmother, Oma. She is remembered with great affection by her mother, Florence Hamlin, and stepfather, Scott Hamlin, as well as her half-sister Donna Govostes, with whom she shared a spirited childhood, including a memorable pre-teen escapade hopping a train near their South Beech Street home that ended with their father retrieving them from Nashua.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Christopher Becker, and their four children, Angelina, Zayden, Tristan, and newborn Esra. She also leaves behind her children Tyler, Brian, Justin, Sebastian, Aiden, Alexander, and Dylan; grandchildren Jaxon, Bella Rose, Joshua, Tyler Jr. (TJ), and Levi; half-sisters Donna Govostes and Marie Deniz; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Bemis, her grandmother Regina Marcoux, and her daughter Esme.
