Elizabeth "Ann" Marr

Elizabeth "Ann" Marr

May 5, 1938 March 12, 2026

Warrensburg, MO

Elizabeth “Ann” Marr, 87, of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully at her home on March 12, 2026. Born on May 5, 1938, in Warrensburg to Wallace and Erna (Dallman) Barbee, Ann graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1956. She began her working life at Mugs Up, where a 10-cent tip from a customer named Robert “Bob” Marr led to their marriage on June 10, 1956.

Ann was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She drove a school bus for 46 years, retiring at the age of 80, and served as bookkeeper for her husband’s trucking company. Yet her most cherished roles were those of wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons Gary Marr, Steve (Wendy) Marr, and honorary son Chris (Kelly) Sharp; her sister Edna Hackett; grandsons Cory Marr and Brett (Megan) Marr; granddaughters Teea Ann (TJ) Classen and Brittany Elizabeth (Cody) Miller; and great-grandchildren Teegan Classen, Staulle Classen, Eleanor Marr, and Wesley Miller.

Known to many as Grandma Ann, she found her greatest joy in caring for and supporting her family. She was a constant presence at sporting events, dance recitals, and church, often carrying bacon in her purse for her grandkids. An accomplished cook, she was famous for her fried chicken, Swedish tea rings, and trays of Christmas candy. Ann also enjoyed sewing, watching Judge Judy, working puzzles, and bowling, earning three Missouri State Champion titles.

In her later years, she delighted in watching photos of her great-grandchildren scroll across her Skylight Frame. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob” Marr, her son Robert Marr Jr., her sisters Martha Larkerbrink and Mary Greenway, and her brother Wallace Barbee.
