Elizabeth Kahl ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Pyle Funeral Home - Johnston City on Mar. 9, 2026.Elizabeth Marie Kahl, 76, of Marion, passed away at 9:41 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Helia Health Care in Energy.Elizabeth, lovingly known as Liz, was born on May 18, 1949, in Marion to Robert and Elizabeth "Betty" (Herring) Phillips. She shared over 39 years with the love of her life, William F. Beal, until he preceded her in death on April 7, 2019.Liz attended Marion High School and spent much of her career working in Management for the Hardee's Franchise.Liz was a member of the Ladies group "Red Hat Society", where she formed many special relationships over the years. She enjoyed gardening, creating floral arrangements, traveling, but above all else, she cherished time spent with her family and cats.She is survived by her sons, Ron (Michelle) Loyd of Marion and Tracy (Tammy) Loyd of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren, Micaela (Matt) Taylor of Marion, Jacob (Aspen) McCree of Pittsburg, and Ashley (Jackson) Manley of Cape Girardeau, MO; three great-grandchildren, Jonah Taylor, Lakynn Long, Brady McCree, and one on the way, Collins Manley.She is preceded in death by her parents; life, partner, William Beal; one sister, Roberta Hileman; two brothers, Gale Phillips and Jimmy Phillips.A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Ivan Ryan officiating.Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to St. Francis CARE- Animal Rescue.
