Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Gertsch

Elizabeth Louise Gertsch, known affectionately as Betty, passed away quietly at her home on March 10, 2026 at the age of 78. The oldest of five siblings, she was preceded in death by her brothers Glen and Nicky Reilly. She is survived by her siblings Frank and Debbie Reilly, Robin and Rich Pollock, and her sister-in-law Cheryl Reilly. Betty leaves behind her beloved husband of many years, Paul C. Gertsch Sr., her sons Paul C. Gertsch Jr. and his wife Julia Gertsch, and Scott F. Gertsch, as well as her grandson Timothy L. Gertsch and his wife Vanessa Gertsch. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Hayden (Pope) Gertsch, Zackary Gertsch, Cole Gertsch, and Raelynn Gertsch.

Born on January 5, 1948 in New Haven, Connecticut, Betty spent many years in East Haven before moving with her family to New Smyrna Beach, Florida in 1989. Together with her husband Paul, she co-founded and operated Street Rods Unlimited. She was known for her generous spirit and volunteered at both locations of the New Smyrna VFW, finding deep fulfillment in helping others.
