Elizabeth Julia Walsh passed away on March 13, 2026, in Port Jefferson, New York. Born on June 18, 1923, in Queens, New York, she faced significant health challenges from an early age, including childhood polio that took mobility in her left leg and later gangrene that led to the amputation of her right leg. Through it all, Elizabeth lived with remarkable resilience, positivity, and a deep appreciation for life.
She worked for many years as a secretary in the construction industry at Theodore J. Burke & Son on Long Island. Beyond her professional dedication, Elizabeth was a devoted parishioner of St. John of God Church, where she found comfort and community through her faith. She also cherished time at the beach, finding peace and joy in its simple pleasures and embracing each day with gratitude despite the obstacles she encountered.
Elizabeth’s strength, warmth, and vivacious spirit touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind family and dear friends who will carry forward the example of her perseverance, grace, and love of life.
