Round Lake Beach, IL

Elizabeth Jean Vice, 90, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, passed away on March 7, 2026 at her home. Born on July 12, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles and Lillian Zwilling.

Betty lived a life deeply rooted in faith, grace, and quiet service. A longtime member of Indian Hill Bible Church, she served as an Awana leader and found great joy in prayer, song, and caring for others. For many years she worked as a food service employee for the Round Lake Area Schools, where she was affectionately known as the Lunch Lady, before retiring from the Fox Lake School District. She had called Lake County home for more than 55 years. On March 31, 1983, she married the love of her life, William Andrew Vice, Jr.

She was a devoted mother to her six children, Marcia (Robert) Orlando, Barbara Daniels, Donna (David) Couch, Mark (Leslie) Vice, Douglas Vice, and Robert Vice. She is also survived by her nephew Walter Wolf, who was like a brother to her, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, Betty will be remembered as a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest treasures were her family and her faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Vice, Jr.; her parents, Charles and Lillian Zwilling; her brothers, George Zwilling and Charles Zwilling, Jr.; her sisters, Catherine “Kay” Wolf and Ruth Iler; her son-in-law, Garry Daniels, Sr.; and her grandson, Cory Vice.
