Elizabeth Jean “Betty” Simpson (nee Bray), of Maryland Heights, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of Gary J. Simpson and the cherished daughter of the late John and Edna Bray. Betty was a devoted mother to Theresa M. (Lonnie) King, Brad T. (Angela) Simpson, and Tina L. (John L.) Burnett; a loving grandmother to Bryan (Shae) King, Cody King, Devin Bray Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Sandra Elizabeth Simpson, Nickolas (Kayla) Burnett, Nicole Elizabeth Burnett, Neal Burnett, Heather (Edgar) Arvizo, and the late Brandon King; a treasured great-grandmother to Haylen King, Kasen King, Sutter Taylor, Odessa Arvizo, and Lane Arvizo; and the dear sister of the late Maryrose Davis, the late Virginia Murphy, the late John Michael Bray, and the late Robert Bray. She was also a precious Aunt Bets, sister-in-law, and friend to many.

Betty shared nearly 68 wonderful years with her husband, Gary. A fantastic and devoted mother, she cherished her family above all else. She found great joy in spending time in the country, being outdoors, and caring for her dogs. Known for her “Luck of the Irish,” she took special delight in sharing her winnings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
