(Haslegrave) Boyes, 85, of Hope Valley, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Boyes.Born in Riverside, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late James V. Haslegrave and Ruth N. (Taber) Haslegrave. Elizabeth spent many years devoted to her family, faith, and community.Earlier in her life, Elizabeth lived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she worked in office management for a pest control company. After many years there, she retired and eventually returned to Rhode Island, where she remained close to her family and community.Elizabeth was a proud and dedicated member of several organizations throughout her life. She was a 50-plus year member of the Rhode Island Order of the Eastern Star, Deborah Chapter #9 of Westerly. She also served as an advisor to Westerly Assembly #7 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and was involved with the Westerly Masonic Foundation. In addition, she was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth's Church in Hope Valley, where she found great comfort and community.Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children, Stephen J. Barnes, Susan Barnes Wilson, and Matthew S. Barnes and his wife Kristen. She was the cherished grandmother of four grandchildren: Christine Barnes and her fiancé Ricardo Couto, Shana Wilson, Morgan Barnes, and Ryan Barnes.She is also survived by her siblings: Philip Thomas and his wife Teri, Richard Neal and his wife Cindi, Roberta Fender, Rosemary Watling and her husband John, and Robin Neal.Elizabeth will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong sense of faith, and her lifelong commitment to the organizations and community she loved.Visitation will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, on Saturday, March 21, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. followed by an Order of the Eastern Star Service at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will take place in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
