Elizabeth "Libby" Haupt

Elizabeth F. “Libby” Haupt, age 79, passed away on March 9, 2026. She had lived with dementia for two years and recently suffered a severe stroke that left her unable to walk or talk. Libby was deeply loved by her family and many friends. A longtime member of Brainerd Baptist Church, she was an active participant in Cheryle Miller’s Life Group.

Born in Spring City, Tennessee, Libby graduated from Spring City High School in 1966 and was crowned Miss Spring City that same year. She went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she became a member of the ADPi sorority and met her future husband, Terry. She enjoyed a long career, working at Singer-Cobble, AmSouth Bank, and Regions Bank, from which she retired as a corporate secretary.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Terry Haupt, Sr., their son Terry Haupt, Jr., and two grandchildren, Harrison (Faith) Haupt and Harper Haupt. Libby was preceded in death by her son Trent Haupt and her parents, Hagar and Ila May Franklin.
