Elizabeth Ann Smith, age 86, of Eastland, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 19, 1940, in Meridian, Mississippi, to William Aubrey McCall and Lillie Ruth Copeland McCall, Ann lived a life defined by warmth, dedication, and an abiding love for her family. She married William David Smith on July 21, 1960, in Meridian, and together they shared a deep and enduring partnership until his death on August 14, 2010.
A devoted homemaker, Ann embraced the role of caregiver with passion and grace, nurturing countless children over the years and earning the beloved title of “Nana Ann.” Her legacy continues through her two sons, William David Smith and his wife Lisa, and Thomas Anthony Smith and his wife Pam, as well as her cherished grandchildren Samantha, Alex, Julia, Mark, and Chris. She was also the proud great-grandmother of seven, whose presence brought her immense joy and pride. Ann is survived by her brother, William “Bill” McCall, and her sisters, Faye Locke and Patsy Dearman, who will always remember her kindness and compassionate spirit.
