Elizabeth A. Horrocks

Elizabeth A. Horrocks, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026. A beloved daughter of the late Douglas and Margaret Mary Horrocks, she was the loving sister of Marilyn Schoeck and the late Ronald Schoeck, and of Margaret Ruth Smith and the late Patrick Smith. She was a cherished aunt to nine nieces and nephews, and a great-aunt and great-great-aunt to many.

Known affectionately as Betty, she devoted much of her life to the care of others. She lovingly tended to her parents until their deaths and built a distinguished career in nursing. A graduate of St. Johns College of Nursing, she went on to teach at St. Vincent Charity School of Nursing, where she influenced generations of nurses through her knowledge, compassion, and dedication.

Betty’s quiet strength, generous spirit, and lifelong commitment to caregiving left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many lives she touched.
