Elizabeth A. “Betty” Beaton of Kingston, formerly of Abington, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 92. She lived a life defined by love and laughter and an unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth, humor, and boundless energy drew people together and created a lifetime of cherished memories.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Angus R. Beaton, Sr., and her sons Robert, Francis, and Sean. She was also predeceased by her mother, Bridget Teresa Moynihan, her sister Margaret Linehan, and her brother John Moynihan.
She is survived by her children: Angus and Anne (Hanson), Debora, wife of the late Robert (Abington), Mark and Diane (Carver), Brian and Jil (Colebrook, NH), Susan Trawinski, wife of the late George Trawinski (Kingston), Nancy Judge Lucas, former wife of the late Francis (Bath, ME), Cathleen and Frederick Grover (Kingston), Elizabeth and Robert Zaleski (East Bridgewater), and Christopher and Sharon (Punta Gorda, FL). Betty was the proud grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who were fortunate to share in her generous spirit.
A dedicated employee of New England Telephone and Telegraph, Abington National Bank, and Continental Cablevision, Betty received multiple Outstanding Customer Service awards. An adventurous traveler, she explored Ireland, enjoyed frequent cruises with loved ones, and even went zip-lining in Belize. Her greatest joy remained her family. She inspired those around her, listened with care, and made them laugh out loud, leaving behind a legacy of curiosity about the world and the courage to face life together.
