Eli Thomas Vogel

Eli Thomas Vogel, 15, of Jessamine County, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born on August 11, 2010, in Lexington, Kentucky, to Kyle and Natashia Vogel, Eli was a student at Mars Hill Academy, where he excelled academically and was remembered for his kindness toward classmates and friends. A committed member of the drama team and a gifted musician, he played in the band GEM, writing and performing original Christian folk rock songs. He found joy in nature and hiking, playing basketball, and riding roller coasters with his family. Above all, he was a beloved son and a wonderful brother.

Eli gave his life to Jesus at a young age and was an active member of Church of the Savior. He carried a deep love for the Lord and faithfully prayed for his family, friends, and many people he met in daily life. His desire to seek God amid life’s cares was beautifully reflected in the songs he wrote.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kelley and Wanda Keith of Pine Knot, and his great-grandfather, Jay Greene of Muncie, Indiana.

Eli is survived by his parents, Kyle and Natashia Vogel; his siblings, Josephine, Lilly, and Jay Vogel of Nicholasville; his great-grandmother, Jane Greene of Muncie, Indiana; and his grandparents, Tom and Susan Vogel of Nicholasville, Logan Dale and Betty Keith of Pine Knot, and Vickey Harrison of Somerset. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Janet Hellman (Matt), Peter Vogel (Isabel), Phillip Vogel (Olivia), Laura Travascio-Green (Alijah), David Keith (Carol), Kathy Keith, Shannon Grissom (Chad), Brandy Jones, and Jesse Richards (Tim), along with many cousins who loved him dearly.
