John Scanlan Funeral Home - Pompton Plains on Mar. 9, 2026.Eleanor Liberata Solimine Napoli, 98, of Riverdale, passed away on March 4, 2026.Born and raised in Brooklyn, Eleanor was the beloved daughter of Nicholas and Raquelina Solimine. She married Vincent Napoli in 1958, and the couple later settled in Riverdale, where they raised their two sons. Eleanor dedicated 60 years of loyal service working for Robert A. and Nancy Ward at their family businesses, including J.S. Reilly, CGW Advertising, and Anserve. Eleanor loved bowling and playing poker, but she especially loved to cook and be surrounded by her family. Her macaroni and meatballs and lasagna were famous among family, friends, and neighbors, and her kitchen was always a place of warmth, laughter, and love.Eleanor is lovingly survived by her sons, Stephen and his wife Donna, and Thomas and his wife Kelly; her grandchildren, Christina Napoli and her fiance Sean Biagiotti, Michael Napoli, Alexandra Crosswhite and her husband Jeffrey, Rachel Ervin and her husband Bobby, and Clare Napoli and her fiance Troy Oswald; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, TJ, and Kendall Crosswhite, and Robert and Abigail Ervin. She is also survived by her two sisters in law, Caroline and Katherine Solimine, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent; her brothers, Carmine, Vincent, and Nicholas Solimine; and her sister, Gloria Carelli.Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 11 at Scanlan's, 781 Newark Pompton Tpke, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Thursday at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church Cemetery, Kinnelon.In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor's memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project would be greatly appreciated by her family.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
