Eleanor Louise Dwyer of Hingham died on March 11, 2026 after a brief illness. She turned 100 in December, celebrating with many family members at Linden Ponds, Hingham, where she had lived for many years.
She was born to Alice and Harold Desmond in Weymouth, the second child of four, sister to the late Arthur H. Desmond, the late Joan Downing and the late Robert A. Eleanor spent many Christmases and holidays there. Eleanor’s travels were worldwide - she thrived in the far-flung environs of distant ports like Australia, New Zealand and countless others.
The family wanted to extend appreciation to the staff at Linden Ponds for taking good care of her in her later years.
