He was born on March 8, 1946, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Ruby (Wilson) Brandon and Henry "C" Brandon.A proud veteran, Eldon answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In 1990, Eldon married his former wife, Betty Walker, in Ada, Oklahoma. Though their marriage later ended, they remained lifelong friends. Eldon earned a degree in Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and went on to build a diverse and adventurous career. His work as a self-employed roofer, oil field driller, and tile layer for Walmart took him across the globe. He lived and worked in Spain, Pakistan, England, North Africa, Algeria, and Amsterdam, as well as throughout the United States.In his free time, Eldon enjoyed visiting the casino, playing pool, watching Westerns, and, most importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Known for his charm, he was a ladies' man at heart.Eldon will be remembered as a loving man with a great sense of humor and a mischievous, ornery spirit. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went.He is survived by his ten children: Summer Winchester, Laela Meadors, John Winchester, Baela Stark, Mark Winchester, Kenny Walker, Shonda Holder, Rick Cashen, Sherry Brandon, and Lisa Brandon; fifty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; his sister, Deloise Anderson of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends, including David White.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby (Wilson) Brandon and Henry "C" Brandon; his daughter, Shelly; his grandchildren, Kimberly Ragsdale, Paige Walker, and Jaden Winchester; and his brother, Gilbert Brandon.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, also at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Adan Montgomery, Brayden Leaverton, Brian Meadors, Charlie Williams, Caleb Montgomery, Mark Winchester, Kenny Walker, as well as members of the Fort Smith area pool league and residents of the Midtown Apartments.The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Tiffani, Ciara, Debbie, Heart of Hospice, Visiting Angels, Home Helpers, Baptist Wound Care, and Pham-Russell's office for their compassionate care.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Eldon Ray Brandon, please visit our floral store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
