Elaine was a woman of adventure, laughter, and deep love for her family. She was the life of every party - full of energy, stories, and a contagious joy that drew people to her. She had a gift for words, and many a family celebration was made even more special by an original poem she wrote, leaving her loved ones with memories to treasure for years to come. She loved to travel and embraced new experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity. Christmas held a special place in her heart; she delighted in decorating her home, creating a warm and festive atmosphere, and hosting family gatherings that brought loved ones together year after year. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Victoria Post and her husband, John Post (Middletown, CT); Kathryn Gerte and her husband, Thomas Gerte (Middletown, CT); Raymond Satagaj-Reinhold and his wife, Malvina Satagaj-Reinhold (Gothenburg, Sweden); and Emily Whelan and her partner, Daniel Ferrante (Rocky Hill, CT).Her greatest joy extended to her six treasured great-grandchildren: Theodore, Logan, Eden, Bjorn, Freja, and Alva, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Jerreanne Keating (Farmington, ME); her brother, Myron "Sonny" Witherell and his wife, Gale (Waterville, ME); and many nieces and nephews, whom she adored and held close to her heart.Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Ernestine and William Cahoone; her brother, Richard Cahoone; her sister, Katherine "Skip" Bubier; and her loving partner, David Presby, whom she adored and heartbreakingly lost much too soon. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her enthusiasm for family gatherings, her adventurous heart and curious mind, and the way she made every occasion brighter simply by being there. Her love lives on in every generation she leaves behind. May her journey continue in peace as she embarks on her next great adventure.
