Elaine Powell

Elaine Callister Powell, born January 23, 1936, passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 90. With her boundless energy, quick humor, and unwavering positive spirit, Elaine brought light and warmth to everyone she met throughout her long and vibrant life.

She met her husband Dave in the seventh-grade band where they both played trumpet, beginning a love story that spanned more than 71 years. Elaine starred in her high school production of Oklahoma and carried a lifelong love of singing. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years, later founded Majestic Real Estate, and after retirement found joy working at the Delta Center. She cherished traveling with family, long drives, golf, and above all, time spent with children and grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her devoted husband Dave, her children Christie (George), Jeff (Cindy), Pam (Jim), Doug (Lauri), Scott (Tammy), daughter-in-law Diane, and Mark (Debbie), along with 41 grandchildren and their spouses and 56 great-grandchildren and their spouses who adored her. She was preceded in death by her son Dennis, whom she loved deeply, and her granddaughter April E. Young.

Those who knew Elaine will remember her as a woman full of sunshine, laughter, and an indomitable spirit who taught those around her to live fully, love openly, and find joy in every day.
