Elaine Marie Tkaczyk

Elaine Marie Tkaczyk, a longtime resident of Indian Acres Drive in Hinsdale, passed away on March 10, 2026 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a long illness. She was 82.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 8, 1943, Elaine was the daughter of Ernest and Virginia (Kent) Dessaint. She grew up in Brattleboro, where she attended local public schools and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School. For thirty years she worked as an environmental service aide at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2009.

Elaine found joy in swimming, caring for her home, and spending time with friends. She held a special fondness for animals, particularly her beloved cats and dogs. On July 29, 1961, she married Russell Tkaczyk at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro; he predeceased her.

She is survived by her three children, Douglas Tkaczyk of Hinsdale, Dean Tkaczyk of Brattleboro, and Diana Turner of California; three grandsons, Brent Finnell, Bradley Finnell, and Kyle Rabideau; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Branden Tkaczyk.
