Elaine Bischoff Toups

Elaine B. Toups passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 96.

A lifelong resident of Gretna, Louisiana, Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Orin L. Toups. She was the devoted mother of Bret J. Toups and his wife Darnelle, cherished grandmother of Matthew B. Toups and Maura T. Karayane and her husband Michael, and proud great-grandmother of Logan A. Karayane. She was the daughter of the late Agnes and Frank Bischoff Sr., and the sister of Agnes Bischoff and the late Frank Bischoff Jr., Emelda Bischoff, Edward “Buddy” Bischoff, and Emile Bischoff. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elaine worked at Bell South Telephone Company for more than thirty years. Those who knew and loved her will remember her quiet strength, her deep devotion to family, and the steady presence she offered throughout her long life. She will be greatly missed.
