Elaine was a mother, grandmother, nurse, and nursing instructor who dedicated her later career to the rescue and care of exotic animals, focusing primarily on chimps and monkeys, a passion that defined much of her life's work.Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don, her daughter Gwenna, and her son Leroy. She is survived by her daughter Theresa, and her grandchildren Shaelyn, Summer, Tanner, Coetta, and Tommy Lee. Her great-grandchildren Chasity, Destiny, Zachary, Jack, Tyranny, and Tyrannosaurus Rex also survive her.In lieu of services, those wishing to honor Elaine's memory are encouraged to make contributions in her name to their local zoos and to causes related to exotic animal care, aligning with her life's passion and work.
