Eileen M. "Smith" Fasanelli

Eileen Marie Fasanelli (née Smith) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 13, 2026, just twelve days before her 98th birthday. A dedicated mother and beloved Nana, Eileen was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her three children, Kathleen Morello and her husband Guy, Ann Murphy and her husband Charles (Skip), and Michael Fasanelli, as well as ten cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Salvatore Fasanelli, her cousin Rita Hourihan, and her much-loved aunts Ida, Einie, and Josephine.

Raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Eileen and Sal built their family life there before settling in Arlington. For many years she worked in the cafeteria at Ottoson Middle School in Arlington, where her kindness and warm, welcoming nature made her a familiar and caring presence to students and staff alike, including her own grandchildren. In her final five years, she resided at Carleton-Willard’s Memory Care Unit in Bedford, where she was lovingly supported by a dedicated staff.

Eileen was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be profoundly missed.
