Eileen J. Heeter

1936 — 2026

Annville, PA

Eileen J. Heeter, 90, of Annville, passed away on March 14, 2026, at the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 67 years, William H. “Bill” Heeter.

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on March 12, 1936, Eileen was the daughter of the late Vincent H. and Alice J. (Geiste) Boland. A graduate of the Harrisburg Polyclinic School of Nursing, she devoted her career to caring for others, first as a nurse at the Lebanon VA Hospital and later as a school nurse with the Annville-Cleona School District. Deeply committed to her faith, she was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Annville, where she taught Sunday School, served on the Christian Education committee, and assisted for many years with the Community Bible School. She also gave generously of her time to the school PTA and Band Boosters.

Eileen found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid reader, she especially loved mystery books and historical novels. She cherished watching her children and later her grandchildren participate in sports, band, scouting, music, and dance. She enjoyed following her beloved Steelers, game shows, holiday parades, the National Dog Show, and the Olympics. Many of her happiest moments were spent riding with Bill around Memorial Lake in search of wildlife, dining out with family, or traveling together on vacations—particularly those that offered the chance to see lighthouses or the possibility of spotting a moose.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Felty and her husband Dana of Annville, and Laurie Brown and her husband Dwayne of Manheim; her daughter-in-law, Holly Heeter of Annville; her brothers, Vincent Boland and his wife Dianna of Lebanon, and Gerald Boland of West Virginia; her sister-in-law, Carole L. Yeakley and her husband Thomas of Annville; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Emily, Brian, Brandon, Paige, Addison, and Kendall; and one great-grandchild, Lexa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dr. David Heeter, and her brother, Joseph Boland.
