Eileen D. Niemann Eileen D. (Chase) Niemann, 79, of Ellington, beloved wife of 56 years to the late Clifford D. Niemann, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, following a courageous, decade-long battle with cancer. She was born on July 12, 1946, in Bristol, daughter to John and Lorene (Maynard) Chase. Eileen grew up in Bristol, attended local schools and was a graduate of Bristol Eastern High School, class of 1964. Following high school, she continued her education at Central Connecticut State University. She began her career at Aetna until her first child was born. Eileen continued her career as a banquet manager at the Colony Restaurant and later as office manager at Rein's Delicatessen, where she worked for 38 years. She was past president of the Emblem Club. Eileen was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, following the career of her favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. She loved the NY Mets and Giants teams, but she especially loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Eileen loved nothing more than hosting family gatherings and parties, and spending time with her loved ones. These gatherings were planned in great detail by Eileen's impeccable organizational skills. Although our time with her is now past, her humor and strength in the face of adversity was extraordinary. Eileen is survived by her five children, Patricia Niemann (Tim), Kimberly Niemann, Julie Roberts (Jay), Jennifer Luchon, Jodie Somers (Luke); her nine grandchildren, Jess (Joe), Alison, Diana (Daniel), Curt, Justin, Emily, Cameron, Lara, and Ian; her six great-grandchildren (and one on the way); her sister, Sharon Testa (Gary) of Bristol; her sister-in-law, Nancy Charette (Mel) of Fort Kent, ME; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; her son-in-law, Stephen Luchon; her grandson, Aaron Schneider; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Soulier (Fran) and Susan Urban (Peter). A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rt. 83), in Vernon, with a memorial service to begin at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. At the request of her family, burial will be held privately at a later date.
