Edwin Michael “Mike” Dickson

Edwin Michael “Mike” Dickson, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Jonesboro.

Born on December 13, 1952, in Jonesboro to the late Edwin Graham Dickson and Paula Sue Dickson, Mike graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1971. He went on to attend Arkansas State University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and formed many cherished friendships.

Well known around downtown Jonesboro, Mike was admired for his musical talents and warm, friendly personality. He loved sharing his music with others, often singing at local spots and performing with the Greasy Tree Band. A devoted sports fan, he also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Florida, which he considered his second home. His deep affection for the beach and coastal life earned him the affectionate nickname “Big Kahuna” among friends, though many simply knew him as Mike.

Above all, Mike had a caring heart. He devoted himself to looking after his parents, a responsibility that meant a great deal to him, and he dearly loved his dogs, Bella and Max, who were his constant companions. He is survived by several close friends who will remember his music, his laughter, and his larger-than-life spirit. Mike often expressed the depth of his affection with the words: “You, my family and my friends are the ones that I hold so dear… so precious is your love… so wonderful is your friendship. You are the ties that bind me to this earth and the strings that will always connect me to this world. Think of me as I was and as I aspired to be—full of life and love.” He will be remembered for his music, his love of the beach, and the many friendships he made along the way.
