Edwin Julian Banks

Edwin Julian Banks, 23, of Michigan, passed away on February 27, 2026. Born on November 1, 2002, to Julia Banks and Charles Banks Jr., Edwin was a bright and determined young man whose warmth and laughter touched everyone around him. He shared a close bond with his siblings, Charles Edward Banks III and Jacqueline Julianna Banks. From an early age, Edwin found joy in sports and physical activity, excelling in basketball, swimming, and track. In high school he also played lacrosse. In quieter moments he enjoyed playing video games and spending time with friends and family.

Edwin began his studies at Michigan State University in Kinesiology before developing a deep interest in finance and investing. With ambition and vision, he worked tirelessly toward his goal of building financial freedom through disciplined effort and hard work, often sacrificing rest in pursuit of the future he envisioned.

He is survived by his loving parents, Julia and Charles Banks Jr., his brother Charles Edward Banks III, his sister Jacqueline Julianna Banks, his uncle Benjamin James Maddox, and his beloved niece Ava Maddox. He also leaves behind his grandparents Benjamin Maddox and Nita Maddox, and Lula Clayton, as well as aunts Charlotte (Ricky) and Ernestine (George), along with many extended family members and friends. Edwin was preceded in death by his grandmother Carolyn Maddox.

Though his time with them was far too short, Edwin’s memory, dreams, and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
